I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?
Muppet42 said:I've already addressed the @starr2022 question. You insultingly dismiss her posts - so - why should she respond to you?
For someone who "isn't involved" then - why are you so livid at the NY Board? What is it to you if some people have to wait out the process, if you're not one of them?
To your second question, how do you know for a fact that they haven't taken action? To know they definitively haven't taken action you must know someone who graduated from a fraudulent school. Beyond your personal opinion, how do you know they haven't? Do you know a fraudulent nurse that didn't receive a letter? Do you know a fraudulent nurse who is still working?
In other words, produce your evidence since you seem to know so much more than everybody else about what is and isn't going on.
@starr2022 explained what the process is thus far. That's not good enough for you. The Board is going to take its time and do things the way it and their legal counsel thinks it should be handled. Period. Sorry you don't like it. But, temper tantrums by you aren't going to change it either.
When did u ever hear me say I was livid, ill wait? U want facts but u have none just talking off someone else that didn't even claim to work for the board. And by the way since you know so much there are plenty of them working in hospitals in NY and other places that hire ups are aware of so what are u saying.
starr2022 said:There has been a change to the NYS BON policy of sending out a passing grade report, for nurses who went to a school that is currently under review. (I.E. Palm Beach, Techni-Pro, Azure)
Previously, if an applicant went to an under review school and had managed to pass the NCLEX exam, but was not granted a license, then they could request that a passing grade report be mailed to another state. They would use this passing grade report as a basis for becoming licensed in the other state , but they could not endorse the license back to New York at this time.
From now on NYS BON will no longer send the passing grade results to another state. The file is on-hold and we will not verify the applicants information to the other state. they will no longer offer this as an option or fullfill the caller's request
Maria,
Starr 2022 posted this on October 14th 14, 2022. This is a factual report of what the NYS BON intended to do and this has indeed come to pass. Star2022 has reported decisions made by the NYS BON that have come to fruition.

Hello, I appreciate your feedback on this forum. Starr2022 can you tell me if I can endorse my license to other states with a current ny license?

@Starr2022, thank for the response.
I went to school in FL as well the school isn't on the "list" I passed my NCLEX PN in June I have yet to receive my Ny license. My family moved to MD I requested for NY to send my passing score since they're not releasing my license I was told it's under review. Will o even be able to get the passing score letter? I know someone mentioned to reach out to FL to retake the exam, I don't mind doing that because I know I went to school but how will I go about contacting FL do I just tell them to allow me to retake the exam?? Please any suggestions would help. I work as a MA now and my job will be happy to hire me as an LPN but I feel stuck. We really don't know when this investigation will be done and I'm sure it can take maybe years. If someone can tell me how to reach FL BON to retest or shoud I fill out a FL application ?

Just call FBON and they will tell you what to do. One of the first things you have to do is have your school send in your transcripts yo FBON. Once they have it and verify then they will tell you what you need to do.
Ponteh1847 said:@Maria30 I'm going through the same thing. After passing my NCLEX through Hawaii, trying to do my endorsement ,my school call me telling me that NYBON will not give you a license " because lots of students are failing the NCLEX, you should be happy another state give you a license". I went straight into depression mood. After telling all my friends and family, and co-workers I have passed my NCLEX now I can't work in NY. I call the NYBON and they keep telling me that the school is on probation and first off all it not accredited it approved, so I ask why your give me a LPN license from this same school a year and half go? She couldn't answer that question. My boss keeps asking me when will I get my license and I don't know what to say cause it is really embarrassing. ?????.
Are you able to get your license in another state if not NY? Will other states accept your Hawaii license by endorsement?

I have not try it yet because people are telling me, I have to be living in that state or have an address there. Also, I'm afraid before I get denied because of my school being on probation. Please let me know if it's possible to do in NJ. Thanks.
My school is also on probation
starr2022 said:You probably got a lpn license from NYS from the same school because at that time your school was accredited and now it's not point blank
@Starr22, Hello, how doing. Any news yet from the NYBON? Or we have to wait until after September 27,2023.
