Nybon Nursing School Under Investigation

I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?

they are rejecting educaton for all students who went to that school during a specific time frame that are licensed and or still waiting to take the NCLEX

They rejected people that were waiting to test and those for endorsement for those schools that were listed in fraud case. NYBON has not suspended anyone that is  currently licensed from those schools. They are still active and working.  I believe there deciding what to do about all those nurses in NY since the majority were licensed in ny state. Other states have taken away anyone license that attended any of those schools, which was a small percentage. Also they did give those a hearing to show proof, which so far no one has shown evidence as going. Online is not adequate  as a student stated as going

Well my problem is that my school is in probation but I got graduated before the probation start and they still making me feel like the have to decide because the school  is listed (probation) I'm dying this can't be possible

That's not true cause it was listed on NYS site that they have started sending out letters to those with licenses asking to turn it in voluntarily and no criminal action would be taken and people on here did say they received letters to give it up so not everyone is still working or have active licenses. @Maria30

Yes it's true they did send letters to nurses with active licenses to voluntarily surrender their license... but for those who opted not to surrender their license they are still active and able to work. In other states like Maryland they automatically revoked their license surrender or not.

You are not understanding. They did give out letters to surrender, but alot of people didn't. They have not revoked there license, they are still active and working. As long as your job did not let u go. The only people that are revoked are those who surrender voluntarily.

Its not just Maryland, othe states as well. They also gave hearings and so far no one could prove there case with evidence. As for now NYBON has not decided what to do with those licensed nurses

Unfortunately all schools out of state are now subject to review in NY

And those who don't surrey their license NYS BON will eventually revoke it and they will have disciplinary actions against license which will make it harder for them to get a new one

@starr2022 do you know if they are doing the same thing to all the campuses associated with the schools on the list?

Don't know if NYBON will do anything about thaT since they allow those to still have a active  license to work

NYBON  is reviewing anyone from schools out of state. And as April 18 they will reject any out of state school that does not meet satisfactory education requirements . This is stated from NYBON

What about the schools that did not get involve with the scam but had since been  closed down (before the scandal) as a result of low passing rates. Florida allow those schools to either (1) finish the remaining classes( for those who are almost done) within a stipulated period of time (2) transfer their credits to another school if they(school) can not meet up within those stipulated period of time.

Will this law that takes effect from April 18th affect all the students that went to some of these NON-SCANDAL schools passed their NCLEX but their licenses being put on hold by NYBON ?

Maria30

but if the law take effect from April 18 how it's gonna affect those passing rate before that date for example my case I took the NCLEX April 1 and my application with the state of New York was approved in January 30/2023 they can't put me in the group of hold

I didn't hear about this new law. Can you explain more about it?
