I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?
Tara45 said:@tina30 out of curiosity didn't you pass the NCLEX why do you still need your transcript, why would they revoke your RN license were you working as an RN then
They didn't revoke it because she didn't obtain fraudulently. What people are failing to understand is that these institutions had real students and were selling the fake diplomas and transcripts on the side. If you didn't buy a fake diploma they are not going to revoke your license because the school was approved to provide nursing education. Now if you want to endorse in another state that BON won't approve your education if your school was involved in the scandal.
What about your Florida license is it still in good standing. Why not try a compact state don't know if they're going to require a single state license from Florida nurses from now on
Shoot! Got it can y'all work in a compact state. Wouldn't be hard to prove which students obtained their diplomas illegally. Would you be able to proceed your BSN?

The did a through investigation so I believe they know who bought the fake the degrees and who actually attended classes. They gave the list to all of the BON with the nurses working with the fake credentials. It is up to the BON to take action as are doing doing now. They are denying or not accepting those schools anymore. They are also revoking licenses. They have been doing this for a while now. It's just now that they are releasing press the conference after the investigation is over. The owners of these school were already convicted in 2022 and told the feds everything.
My friend went to carleen for the review after she couldn't pass the exit at southeastern college she is now freaking out that they might revoke her license, she's license in Florida don't if she can move to another compact state to work as an RN she got her license beginning of 2020.

If she attended the classes then she should be fine to practice Florida but I am not sure if they will revert the compact license to a single state one.
That's terrible hope they make their decision soon y'all deserve to move on and forget about this whole ordeal. Wish y'all the best of luck.
What I'm trying to understand is that if 3 schools were part of the fraud investigation by FBI and were reported on the news why are other people posting that these other schools were part of it? The other schools weren't mentioned on the news so let's not start spreading information that we don't have all the details on.

They grouped them all in the same category. Most are on there because ny investigating and no longer accepts transcripts because of low pass rate . Carleen RN program is now gone only Lpn program

Yes and that I'm aware of low pass rate which is different from an FBI investigation

Nurses may only hold a compact license in the state in which they legally reside. If she moves, she will need to become licensed in the new state. If the new state won't endorse her license, then she's a little stuck.
