I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?

The first 5 on the list and Florida College of Health Science . Azure and Jay College she may had something to do with the rest on the list. The first 5 on the list she either worked for or recruited students for this lady has been targeting students for many years many students failed out the last semester of nursing school was able to buy the rest of there so called education from her. She targeted many students from Jersey College that failed out there last semester in Jersey and she was offering BSN degrees from Jay College .She also had many so called back door tutoring centers in NYC and CT and NJ and Delaware at one point under a nursing agency. This has been going on for many many years. I knew some people many years ago who thought about going with the lady's plan but I always said to them what happens if you get caught thank God they choose the legit way. So I would think this is going to be a very long investigation.
I’m wondering when did this investigation first started and did anyone get letters letting them know that the schools are under investigation
What are the other schools on the list for actually? Is it because they lost their accreditation and the schools closed down?
Was anyone able to apply to a RN to BSN program after passing the NCLEX ?!

Were you able to apply to a RN to BSN program ?!

These schools I have cited never had accreditation rather FBON approval, yes. Florida now requires a nursing school to acquire REAL accreditation (with a REAL nursing program accreditation) within a specified time limitation. Many are just riding out the days of money coming in, without regard of the impact on their paying students.
I know most of you are holding hope for your eventual 'approval' for NCLEX in NY. I so hope too. I do not want to rob you of your dreams, rather I want to present the reality of your situation.
Here is what Florida statutes say
Quote464.019, Florida Statutes. Approved RN nursing education programs are required to obtain accreditation within five years after enrolling the program's first ...
So while you may hope, there are reasons your program may not be approved in New York State EVER. Look to see if your program is still approved. There are some programs that continued to enroll students even when they knew the student would not get a license out of the state of Florida. While one person attributes this whole mess to corruption; that does not explain all the listed schools being unacceptable to NY when licensing. And more are probably coming...... For those starting, look at the start date. ACEN accreditation takes YEARS to achieve and a lot of institutional money. Ask them to show you an application for ACEN accreditation.
What to do? Stop waiting and hoping! Action is necessary! Contact your state representatives and US Congress representatives. On your part contacting your state representative and US representative only takes a phone call of your time. Be action focused!

@londonflo Med-Life was accredited by ABHES, just to be clear.

Hopefully we did speak to the NY board and they said it could be months to years as so many schools are involved. Sooner the better one girl posted she has already waited more than a year and a half and still nothing. But let's be postive that everything will work out.
