Nybon Nursing School Under Investigation

I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?

That's so incredibly frustrating. If it meets CCNE accreditation then why wouldn't NYS take it? I went to in person classes and in person clinicals. I feel like they should accept my school because it is in good standing and fully accredited. At this point, the only way I can get my NYS license is if they become a compact state. 

FYI, Herzing University, Louisiana  is currently on probation by LA Board of Nursing therefore affecting NY license application --doesn't meet NY state requirements.

When I posted this, it was fully accredited. I see now that it;s on probation but when I graduated it wasn't

As a new program,  Herzing  BSN LS is still listed as accredited with next review 2027; its the state that has placed it on probation as their 2023 NCLEX pass rate 79.31% below required 80%.  Many states do this to maintain high nursing standards getting nursing programs to improve their educational preparation.

If Herzing NCLEX rate increases by end 2024, may regain approved status. NY BON may reconsider.

They are good. I started with them and failed pharmacology and they wanted me to pay $3k to repeat but I didn't and went ahead to a different school to complete. Come to find out they was involved with the fraudulent scheme. I should've just paid and stayed cause all my mates are working RN

Universal training institute is located in perth amboy not south. And they only do LPN, It's a good school and it's accredited.  That school teaches well u will definitely know your stuff when u finish

Hello , Is there anybody got NY RN liscense by endorsement from FL . I still have active FL RN liscense but my application for NY RN liscense is on hold , NYBON did not Deny or approve my application ,even they did not give me any timeframe . My school is an approved program from FL,It is not involved in Operation Nightangle . Thanks in advanced.

Even if it wasn't involved in the scandal, it still has to be accredited. NY will not accept approved schools going forward.

Thank you So much. I talked with NYBON customer service they did not mention that 😢 unfortunately. Should I seek help from Liscense defence lawyer?  Any idea?

Ms. Sullivan announced that the FBI investigation of Florida nursing programs is ongoing, that the FBI has identified additional illegedly fraudulent nursing programs. She added that the National Council of State Boards for Nursing (NCSBN) remains the key resource for information regarding FBI"s activities, as well as other state's efforts to address the allegedly fraudulent nursing programs. She reminded the BON Members not to comment on this matter as a BON Member. She noted that is important that BON Members remain neutral and unbiased in case they are asked to participate in a disciplinary proceeding involving allegedly fraudulent nursing programs.

 

For those living in New York state, reach out to your elected assembly member = state representative as they are experts dealing with state agencies like BON.

Has anyone reached out to there assembly person and gotten assistance or help? I called the state the other day and was told the same thing again.. just keep waiting. I did reach out to my assembly person but have not gotten any response.
