NY, NY hospitals

Published

Well, my license finally came through!

Anyone have suggestions about New York hospitals?

Thanks!

What I was saying was that if I was going to only be in New York City for 13 weeks, I would want to live in the thick of it all- Manhattan- not 45 minutes away from the night life of NYC on the north side of the Bronx if I was doing a travel assignment.

There is a vibrant night life throughout most of NYC's five boroughs. Actually, there are parts within Manhattan that are absolutely dead at night because of it being primarily business districts. Best to consider a visit there first to scope out the boroughs at night to see what I am talking about. There are areas of Queens and Brooklyn that are just as vibrant for night life as some of the Manhattan hot spots.

Totally understandable! But my point is (and I was born here and lived my whole life here so I know) is that there is no "thick of it all" in New York City anymore. There is "night life" in all of NYC, even in the Bronx ;). I'm not sure that north of the Bronx counts as NYC, so I won't speak to the night life there.

Manhattan is simply not the heart of New York anymore, and it hasn't been for years and years. Unless you want to live in the theater district and see Broadway shows daily or a Toys-R-Us with a ferris wheel in it does something for you, then Manhattan just isn't any more vibrant or interesting than anywhere else. In fact, many would say it's far LESS vibrant because it's basically like living in a giant mall from river to river.

All I'm saying is: when you come to New York, keep your mind open, leave Manhattan frequently, please don't eat at Ruby Tuesday's and have a ball! And for crying out loud GET YOUR OWN SUBLET HOUSING!Your stipend will go farther!

I don't recommend New York Presbyterian.

its closed now anyway:(
