Hi!! I've been accepted as well. I had started a thread before acceptance for the applicants.

I know of at least 5 people from my a&p2 class that got in! I was surprised with the amount that got in al from just our small class. I took the 11am course as well. I'm so excited!!

Wow 5 people! I have one person in my APII class other than me. Did you get any of the Background stuff done? I only have shots and physical left to do.

Im having such a hard time! is it all done online or via the mail? Once I get onto that website theres no option to choose "student instructions for NVCC"....

Hi JBLove,

This is all done online. Our package code is NM94. That should get you in. Then, just do what it tells you to do. One word of caution. MAKE SURE you get a physical set up ASAP! it takes a long time to get one and especially hard to get time just before school starts - don't wait on that. Not to mention the shots and if you need a series of shots it could take weeks to go thru the process. I hope that helps....

I just just had a physical in the last few months so I will try to get them the paper to fill out this week. And I don't know if I will need any immunizations... How does one do a drug test online? Lol. Why did the company charge for it if we just need to submit documentation from our doctor?

Thats good you just had a physical. I had to change doctors for insurance and it took a long time to get to see him. If I had waited to make an appointment I would have been SOL. As far as drug test you simply click on "drug test" and open the attached file it will give you the instructions. I just went to the closest place to NVCC it is literally down the street from the school. you could walk there. It took may 20min to do. it's easy unless you have something to hide. LOL - it was free! comes with the background fee you pay for the service.

Just added a FB page "NVCC Nursing Class of 2017". Please join us and ask others who are also NVCC students to join our group. Thanks and see you in the orientation/fall.

Hey everyone congrats on getting in! I'm looking at A&P classes for the fall and would love to know who you took and if it was a good experience feel free to PM me or keep it initials if you'd like to keep it private thanks!

professor ****** was the best teacher I had. However his tests are very hard.

The good:

1. You will learn a ton of good information.

2. You will be better prepared for nursing

3. He understands what you need to know in nursing and tries to prepare you for it

4. He explains everything clearly and is easy to talk to.

5. If you get out alive you are ready for nursing!

The Bad:

1. His tests are very hard! - if you do not fully understand concepts his questions will fool you.

2. if you have a 3.5 or lower you may take a hit on the GPA so be careful

3. Home work is tedious, he actually checks them to be sure you do it, and expects you to read and understand the assigned readings before class. (this is good and bad)

5. He is always late to class. but expects you to be on time.

The skinny: If you are a good student and you know how to study and prepare for tests he is your guy. If you are average learner and need the best grade possible don't bother, your grade will suffer and you may not be able to get in the nursing program.

(remember API is 25% of your Nursing GPA) - Good luck!

I had him a few years back. Liked him as a person...despised his teaching. I ended up dropping the class along with 2/3 of the class. (no lie! students who got A's were failing. Not due to lack of effort on their part). Something must have happened after that class b/c a friend who was taking it with me and dropped it as well, had to retake it (I got admitted to another school) with him again. this time she said things were so much different. His teaching was awesome and she (as well as most of the class) were doing very well.

Oh, BTW, you may want to edit your post to remove his name. The mods frown upon using names in posts and tend to edit the name out.

He's always late now?? when I was in his class I was always early..and he and I would be the only two in the class for a while LOL

Specializes in Pediatrics.

I just graduated from NVCC so if you have any questions, let me know! I also have three size small scrub tops only worn September-May if anyone is interested in them they're not really worn out much at all, since I was only in the last year of the program.
