NVCC MEC nursing fall '17

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all,

i submitted my app for the fall nursing program a week and a half ago so I figured I'd start a forum for all the NVCC MEC nursing applicants to communicate with each other while we anxiously wait for our faith. If anyone in the program or have graduated from the program would like to give some advice, please do!

I only submitted my application a week before the deadline and got an email confirmation from MEC Student Services that my application was processed and will be sent to the nursing department on May 15th. Anyone here know how long after that we should expect a decision email? The wait is driving my nerves through the roof!

I received the same email on May 15th also.

You got a confirmation email? Because someone above this post said she contacted the MEC and they said they were not going to do that this year. Has anyone else received an email that they've processed your applicantion?

I haven't received an email saying they processed my application... But last year I know that they were a little scrambly with sending out the confirmation email. I'm going to give student services a call today.

Soooooo I called Student Services and the lady told me that the only emails that they would be sending out would be if someone's application wasn't completed. I told her that some of you guys received an email saying your application was processed, and she said that they weren't sending out emails saying applications were processed... I'm so confused right now. Would someone else mind giving them a call? 703 822 2714

Edit: I do want to add that she also told me that they weren't done processing all of the applications.

Another update... The lady at student services asked me for my EMPL ID number and now I got the confirmation email that my application would be sent to the Nursing department. I think she just got to mine because I called. However, on the email I got, it says that they wouldn't answer any inquiries about applications over the phone. The email I got was from [email protected] if you guys want to shoot them an email and let them know that you haven't received anything. I think that they're just doing it in a random order or maybe based on how they received the applications so the lady just expedited mine since I called. Again, that's just a thought since I didn't receive the email until a little bit after I spoke to someone. I'm still a little confused but at least I know mine's been processed!

Not yet; I mean to attend an open house first.

Hey everybody! I also applied to the nursing program! 2 days ago my friend and I received a e-mail saying that our applications were being sent to the nursing division to be processed. I got A's in all the bio's and a 100 on English, 85 on reading, 88 on math but I still have both of the psychology co-requisites incomplete.

Hey guys! I have been stalking allnurses and so glad I came across an actual thread for this semester! I also got the confirmation email on the 15th of May. Now we wait. I am DYING to know. I got 87.5 on all TEAS areas, and I have a 3.4 for pre reqs. I also have a bachelors degree. I guess we will see!! ALSO if youre in the market for a littmann, the cardiology 4 is on sale on amazon. I got a basic one for 142 because they had a 15% off coupon. IF I dont get in in the fall, Im getting in somewhere in the spring, so there's that :D

Hey guys, on another thread, I found this link to a study guide for the math test that they will give in orientation from a couple of years ago I believe. Obv don't study it in full until you know for sure so you don't waste time but it doesn't hurt to look over real quick :) :) SO ANTSY! According to one of the counselors that I spoke with, who has been there for years, he says we should find out official acceptance by June 2nd. :) On another note, anyone in here from Rutledge's BIO 150 2nd 8 wk class?? Shout out to you all, this is Tania. :)

I am so glad I finally found a thread for this application pool. I am also really glad to hear they might be increasing the application pool, I was really worried. I too received a confirmation email around the 14-15 of May. However I am slightly worried because my TEAS reading score isn't very high. I am hoping my GPA of a 3.81 and pre-reqs will be enough to see through the lower score.

Tania - hey! I was in that class, this is Victor :)

I also saw that math thing in the older forum and hope that it still has the stuff we need haha, I for sure don't want to take a random nursing math class so thanks for the share.

I almost don't believe that we're going to hear back by June 2nd... Last year they didn't hear back until like the end of June + Nova is so disconnected between different departments like admissions vs. student services (i.e: the confusion with the processing emails). I hope so though! I haven't been too busy at work lately so now all I can think about is whether I got in or not lol. But that's wild since June 2nd is so close :o
