Hi all,
i submitted my app for the fall nursing program a week and a half ago so I figured I'd start a forum for all the NVCC MEC nursing applicants to communicate with each other while we anxiously wait for our faith. If anyone in the program or have graduated from the program would like to give some advice, please do!
I'm with you! This whole application process is disorganized, the way that the MEC shared info and the nursing division reported makes me think that they aren't communicating.. in the email MEC sent with the dean's contact info they started by saying "It appears the nursing division.." as if they had no idea acceptances were being sent. It's driving me crazy though because my enrollment deposit for another school is due tomorrow and I wanted to know if I got into Nova before I submit that í ½í¸
Yeah, I hear you. The tuition is so much lower there which makes me want to stick it out. I just dont think it's fair to those who are trying to plan thier lives and the fact that there's supposed to be a ranking system yet only half of the applications have been processed makes little sense too. I know a couple people who got in that have lower scores/gpa than me and no other college degrees (which I have) so it's kinda disheartening. Then again I also know people that got in with higher scores than me too. But it doesn't seem organized. If there was just a line of updates and communication, everyone would be in a better place.
I'm sure the Nursing dept is doign the best they can. I'm sure like many other places they are working short handed. Hopefully you all find 1 way or another soon. It is a good nursing program, at least it was when I went through 2007-09. People do fail, so study....And people do fail out on the drug dosage exam, 1 gal did so on the very last semester. Good luck.
Which is why I think they'll send the notices out today...they really didn't give the first group much notice either anyway...they had about 3 business days to get it together. Someone finally replied to my email, it Stafford is a priority 2. Meaning unless they excepted all the qualified priority 1s it's a slim chance I'll get one of these slots...the little glimmer of hope I had is now officially lost again.
Don't give up, love! I agree. I'm sire they're working really hard and the MEC sending out that email eith the Dean and associate Dean's info was not at all helpful. All we can do is stay positive until told otherwise!
MEC Counselor are the only ones that have answered and given me any response. Nursing is evasive at best.

gah! I dunno if there is any rhyme or reason to this process anymore bahahahah Honestly, if they are supposed to have the second batch go to the orientation on the 20th, then we should find out today? because otherwise they're going to be giving 6 or less days notice. I havent seen anyone post about more acceptances, so I think its just a matter of waiting. some more. WHHHY
