I am starting a new thread to track cases from NVC - embassy to GC.
The best news for RN in China, Phillippines and India has been great and informative thread, but I think it is more appropriate and convenient if we start a new thread.
Also with the rapid scheduling of interviews for most of us, I am looking beyond the CP and anticipating the GC!
The August interview schedules are out already in India, and recently in the Philippines and hopefully in China.
Here is my case details

Hi everyone.
I was wondering about my case. I was given I140 approval jan 12 2006, as of yet nothing from nvc no bill and no forms ive contacted nvc they say I have no record with them. The nvc website says my approval date is 6th feb 2006, ihave a copy that says 12th jan. My lawyer says not to worry nvc dont know anything. is this normal
cheers trevor
if you are trying to look back some posts here, from the approval of the 1-140 up to the time they received their Packet 3, it took about 5 or 7 months. that is why, it is still too early to complaint about not receving the packet 3 (DS230) considering if our approval of 1-140 took place only last January or February this year citing the case of dhel28 at page (1) of this thread and so many other posts. in my case, i rely more on the replied email from NVC regarding the tracking down of our case/s.

Definitely not normal.
you are right,suzzane4, definitely, NVC will not process unless payment of immigrant visa fee bills is paid then the immigrant visa instructional packet (DS230) will be sent to your attorney of record. in the case of t.turnbull, it is better to communicate constantly with your attorney and /or to NVC.
Thanks for the reply Suzanne and esterp
As you know suzanne im not with an agency, Ive got a job in orlando, there sorting out the green card. I have visa sreen and all was going well.
I hassled the attorney and eventually she sent a copy of the approval notice dated 12th jan 2006.
Im getting married in 4 weeks and my wife to be will be coming on my green card.
Like I said i checked the usics website and it did say approval 12th jan 2006.
I left it for a few weeks and checked again the approval date changed to the 6th of feb 2006.
I then contacted attorney to enquire what was going on I asked if they had resubmitted my application she denied this, and told me not to worry and just wait.
Then I contacted nvc it is now more than 90 days on both approval notices they say they have no record of my file and asked me to send them a copy of the approval notice I have. I did and they replied with no record of this case.
do you have any idea what might be going on
many regards trevor

It depends on the agency. Im glad i didnt encounter any " bad things" from them. They always keep me updated of all the developments. U just have to look for an honest agency.
