I am looking to pursue a degree in health information management and informatics. I feel it is a better fit for me than nursing because I like to work behind the scenes rather than interacting with alot of people as a nurse. I am already an LPN, and I have been told that I can still get my RN and work on the health information management side of it as an RN. so that brings me back to should I just become an RN or pursue the actual degree in health information management? Any information or opinions would be very helpful, Thank you!

We are nurses, not academic advisors. If you want to know what degree to pursue, consult the counselors at the schools you want to attend.

As part of your research, do an informal search for job openings in each field. HIM is not known for providing a lot of employment opportunity.
