I don't know what kind of careplan that you are working on, but here is a list of some nursing theorists:

Erickson, Tomlin, & Swain: Model & Role Model

Newman, M.: Expanding Consciousness

Watson, J.: Caring

Orem, D.: Self-care

Roy, C.: Adaptation

Paterson& Zderad: Humanistic

Leininger, M.: Sunrise Model

Rogers, M.: Homeodynamics Model

King, I.: Open Systems

Peplau: Interpersonal

Neuman, Betty: Systems Model

Henderson, V.: Nursing Components

They should have some therorists listed in your textbooks. There is a chapter of theory in all of my non clinical textbooks. Good luck!

do you have your own copy of taber's cyclopedic medical dictionary? the appendix has a section on the nursing theorists that includes writeups about the different theories. you can also get some information on this website: http://www.sandiego.edu/academics/nursing/theory/

I will look at the library as my Tabors is 30 yrs old. I got it in 1972 before life and nursing became so complicated.
