Nursing Support Group???

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I was just wondering if any other students would be interested in starting some type of online nursing support group where we could keep in touch with one another on a regular basis to see how we are all doing to support one another. Just let me know if you are interested or have any ideas!

Does it matter what program youre in? I start a LVN program in june. I have two smaller kids so im choosing to babystep up to a BSN. But RNs might have different milestones than LVNS or is this support in general. Sorry i made it complicated. I think its a great idea though and im on board if its nuraing in general :)[/quote']

Nursing school is nursing school whether it is a VN, ASN or BSN program:-)

No it doesn't matter at all! We are all in some type of nursing program, and no matter what type of program and where we are in the program we all have similar experiences. You didn't make it complicated either. Welcome to the group!

I'm just a prenursing student and haven't gotten accepted but this group will help uplift me so I'm glad to have you guys in my corner:D

Glad that this group can help! I hope that soon you'll be accepted and don't ever get discouraged!

Thanks tobe2016. I won't let the next one phase me. That's why I did so poorly before. I won't let one test break me.

Hi everyone,

Hoping you all might have some advice. I am having a few issues with other students in my class. Disgusted with the unprofessionalism and lost on what to do.

I know nursing school is very competitive, but I don't recall so many trying to undermine fellow students. The situations below discuss situations with 4 students.

Here we go—someone (we'll call her student 1)is trying to read some last minute notes prior to an exam. Student 2 goes out of her way to interrupt the student by repeatedly saying her (student 1) name so that the student is forced to acknowledge student 2. Student 2 had nothing to ask , just wanted to tell student 1 about an experience that she had. Student 1 politely said that she was trying to review prior to the exam. Student 2 disregards the comment made and continues to talk. This happens often, so not an isolated incidence. Student 1 sits far away from this student, but student 2 still comes over and distracts.

Same day- different student that has been acting like a friend...calls venting about a friend that she had an argument with—Went on to describe her situation by bringing up a very personal event that had happened to student 1. There was no comparison, just seems like an attempt to get student 1 to provide details of her personal event.

Then yet another student tries trash talking student 2 to student 1, but student 1 knows that these two had been friends. Student 1 tries to offer an ear and relates to other life events.

There is so much more—above are simply recent occurrences.

I don't know what else to do. Avoiding only goes so far and seems to make things worse, but I also know there are no friends in nursing school.

Has anyone else had similar school experiences? And if so, what did you do to resolve the conflicts?

Thank you for any advise that you may have!

I'm on my smart phone, so I apologize for any grammar or spelling errors.

Hello All! Yes I would be interested. Where are you guys/ladies from? I'm from Detroit, MI :-) I have 2 prereqs left Microbiology & A&P II AND HESI to take before I can apply to the Nursing program at WCCCD... Also, if u have a Facebook follow me @ Angela Bembry

I'm very interested in joining, but I'm not officially in my program yet. I have a few more pre-reqs to go, is that ok?

I would definitely b interested in joining. I need all the support I can get, since I'm starting to lose hope in becoming an RN :(

Jliz27 don't give up. I felt like giving up but since I e been studying and focusing my efforts towards my goal, I feel more sure about what lies ahead and more confident. That's all we can do!

Hey all. I retook my exam and scored in the 96th percentile! With my gpa, my odds are looking good. Best of luck to you all. Will give an update in mid April when letters come in!

I got accepted into GTC 2014 fall program! !!!!
