Hi everyone! So I am currently a nursing student in New York going to Molloy College in RVC. I am going into my second semester of junior year. Once I graduate and take the nclex my plan is to move down to North Carolina because I've always wanted to settle there but I'm just a little nervous as to if I'm going to get a job there because I'm not from there. I'm probably going to move to Winston Salem area. If anyone has any advice that would be amazing!! Thank you!!

I don't konw a lot about W-S area, but I work with a nurse who lives there. There is Baptist (I don't know it's full name). My nurse friend works with me at Duke on the weekends (stays overnight). I think it is a nice area. There are more employment opportunities in the Raleigh-Durham area and a great social scene/cultural stuff to do
Look into how your license transfers. Check with NCBON to see what you have to do.

If you are willing to either relocate to SC (Upstate) or to commute (parts of NC aren't that far from the Greenville-Spartanburg region of SC, you might not have to much difficulty getting a job in upstate SC. I work with nurses who commute from Charlotte, Rutherfordton, Shelby, etc. We are experiencing a shortage in parts of SC right now. You might want to check out SC. Parts of the upstate are very very pretty. Of course, I am biased!
Thank you so much!

Hey there! I am currently a CNA and pre-nursing student in the Raleigh area. I also grew up in the Winston-Salem area. Both are nice, but I think the Raleigh area has more job opportunities. NC overall is a booming healthcare market, so you're making the right move. Best of luck!
Thank you so much! That really made me a lot better about my future decision!!!!
Hi! Do you know of any internships or volunteer programs that I could possibly get into for the summer?? Thank you so much!

If you are thinking about moving to NC I would recommend moving to Raleigh or Durham. Just because there are plenty of job opportunities in Raleigh. Winston Salem has some but not very many job opportunities. I grew up Raleigh, NC and they have a lot to offer, and some many jobs. Move to NC and you won't regret it. Good Luck
Thanks so much!
