aetiology and pathophysiology of postnatal depression

Was wondering if anyone could help me understand the aetiology and pathophysiology of postnatal depression, have been stuck on it for a while now.

I discussed aetiology being about the dramatic changes that occur in the levels of steroid & peptide hormones and can be related to mood disorders. But im not unsure if it falls under the pathophysiology of the disorder.

Very stuck and would appreciate any help!

I do not think OP is asking for personal advice. I think he/she is a student trying to get a handle on the disorder for a care plan or paper. Is that correct OP?

I'm a student nurse, and was just unsure. I'm currently doing a case study and think I'm heading in the wrong direction answering my questions

If that's against guidelines I understand

Thanks in advance
