Hey, all of those are great areas to get experience in! If you are interested in being a CRNA, I recommend trying to get into the ICU because after you become a nurse, you must have at least a years experience there before you go to anesthesia school. Or, if you want to see a CRNA in action, why not try the operating room?
I'm applying to a nursing summer program for highschool students and one of the questions on the application says to list three nursing specialties that I'm interested in learning about during the program. I just want to double check that the following are nursing specialties:Pediatrics, Emergency, Operating Room
Also, could I include CRNA or is that not a specialty but more of an advanced thing?
Not only are they specialties, but you could also use this very website to look over the MANY specialties available in the Forums section under Specialties.
You can read posts from people who currently work in these areas, as well as areas you might not have even known existed (perfect for a high school student just finding out about what's out there in nursing!)
Best of luck to you :)
