nursing shoes

Iknow this isn't a very exciting topic, but I just started a CNA course and I still need to buy some white shoes for clinical. Does anyone have any recommendations? I plan to go on to nursing school next spring so I'd like to invest in a pair of shoes that'll last more than a month or two. I've seen some really expensive shoes and wonder if they are worth it. What about Rockers? They don't seem to be too expensive, yet seem supportive. I already work on my feet all day and they still hurt when I get up in the morning. Should I just buy some athletic shoes?

Thanks,

Laura

I can't stand Rockers. I bought a pair for first semester when they insisted we wear nursing shoes.

Now I wear Skechers. Much more comfortable.

Specializes in peds, office nurse and long term care fa.

I like S.A.S. shoes. Have no trouble with my feet when I wear them!

This is a very interesting and important topic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was given advice by another member of this board to try out the white "professional" shoes that Wal Mart sells. They are not very expensive but compared to more expensive shoes are much more comfortable. This is coming from someone who said they have gone through about 2 pairs of expensive shoes during 1 st year of clinicals and the Wal Mart shoes are the best thus far.

So, I think when it is time for me to purchase my uniform for clinicals I am definately going to give them a try.
