Ladies: Best Watch for Work?

Hi, ladies. :) I'm looking for a good wrist watch for work. I don't really like the lapel ones, and I don't want one that goes on my stethoscope. I like it to be on my wrist. It's obviously gotta be water resistant and I'd like it to have some sort of glow-in-the-dark feature, since I work night shifts in the ED. I want one with a metal band because I've had those cheap little silicone ones, and they're great, but my skin gets irritated when the watch rubs over it after I wash my hands. I'm willing to spend some good money on it, because I want it to last, and as such, I want to make sure I get one I'm going to like! I've been looking online, but I thought it might be good to get some nursey input. :) Ok, go!

This is a real matter of preference!

I liked simple metallic stretchy band kind - but CHEAP. They take a lot of abuse and if it gets cracked - oh well.

Or if you take it off and forget it ..., well forget it. Nobody will give it back.

When the batteries die, replacements can be expensive. Found it was just as easy to just toss it, and buy a new CHEAP one. (And yes, I did have some "better" ones early in my career.)

Cheapo watches - I wore them OUT. And they owed me nothing when I tossed them

i second the cheapo whatch. i had a really good citizen watch that i wore until it would tick no more. i even tried to get it repaired twice. it made me sad because it was a gift from my hubby. But now i stick to the Timex $20 and below bin. Always metal band, but never stretchy - that pinches me. But that's all personal preference.

Cheapest watch you can find that is water-resistant, has a second hand, and can be cleaned (with bleach if necessary). Something you wouldn't mind getting ruined at work and can basically consider to be disposable. Save the "nice" watches for your own, off-duty time.

I got v. good service for many years out of one of the "seven dollar specials" at Wal-Mart. Changed the battery a few times, but the watch kept going.

I've boughten(and received as a gift) this watch 3 times because I love it. I started using it in nursing school, and can't find another that I like better(when I'm not wearing my fitbit).

Military time,

glow in the dark (sometimes needs a little help from a penlight, I work nights so it's generally dark everywhere),

red second hand.

easy to clean,

easy to read.
