I was just wondering if anyone knows of any nursing schools in the Tampa area. I currently attend USF, and wanted to apply to others. USF requires a very high GPA (which I currently do not have), and a waiting period. If anyone could suggests any others it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I went to nursing school many moons ago in PA however my daughter is currently enrolled at South University Nursing Program in Tampa. I believe their website is www.southuniversity.edu. I know its a private school and so the expense is more than USF I think however she qualified for grants and loans. I also think that they do not have a very long waiting list but I do believe that their GPA requirements are 3.5 but Im not positive on that.
Good Luck and and message me if I you'd like.
I talked to someone from South University. They require 2 extra classes then USF does for their pre reqs so I would have to take them before I apply. Even though I do not feel like waiting a year to get into a school, I might have to.

I got accepted to USF's accelerated program, which has a slightly lower GPA requirement than the upper division - more like 3.5 altogether. Of course, you'd have to finish another degree first. Who told you there's a waiting period? I took 3 classes this semester and I start the CON May 14. Other programs in the area include HCC and SPC for an ADN program, and UT if you're willing to pay private school tuition. I knew I wanted an accelerated BSN and I had the GPA, so I didn't consider any other schools, but a good resource could be the state board of nursing - they list all accredited schools in the state, with NCLEX pass rates. Good luck!
