Hi guys,
I am in the process of applying to a bunch of different schools in Jersey and the Philly area and I just wanted to know of different peoples experiences with applying to some of these schools. I already have a B.A. in Sociology from Rutgers but my GPA was only a 2.5. I've been taking the rest of the standard prereq's at BCC and will only have Nutrition left after the fall semester. I have taken the NET already and scored an 88. The schools that I applied to so far are: Holy Family, Drexel, FDU, Trinitas, Frankford SoN, Saint Peter's, Wesley, & BCC. I plan to apply to some more soon as well but I really just wanted an honest opinion of if I really would have a chance at getting into any of these schools
TIA:heartbeat

hey i went to drexel's ACE program and just finished in march. i went to rutgers and my gpa was about a 3.0 when i came out and i got accepted there. i think they want you to have a 2.75 but judging by the people in my program i think they let people with lower gpa's in. I think it just depends on how many people are applying and how many slots they are willing to fill. Some schools only care about money and want to fill slots. Good luck to you and im sure you will do great once you find a program that suits you. If you have any questions write to me cuz im sure i can help, i was in your shoes about a year ago. oh yea go scarlet knights!! i graduated from there too with a bs in exercise science

Hi. I've just graduated from Trinitas in May. As far as how easy it is to get into their nursing program, it's very easy since it's the only nursing school in the nation that does open enrollment. however, i believe u need a certain GPA but it's very feasible like 2.5. i don't know if they've changed it. Just take note that they do have a hard program. I know that when i started the program, there must've have been a little over 100 students maybe more, and we've graduated with 44 left. That has been the highest number of students that graduated from that school so far, i believe. Even though they work you hard, they really teach u well clinically and theoretically, and they have a 100% passing rate in the NCLEX.

Recently accepted to FDU Program. Very easy process with no hassle. I had a 3.1 GPA and they required no essay which I submitted anyways. The turnaround time was quick as long as you have your re-req complete. Eg.
A+P1 and 2
Chemistry with some organic principles
Statistics
Economics and Bioethics can be taken when you are in the course.
I am in thier accelerated part time nursing program. Very good for those who want to keep a full time job or work part time. First semester you are in class 3 nights a week and you have 1 online class

I'm looking at the FDU nursing website now and am wondering if you had at least a B in each of the prereqs. Do you also know if they are strict with that and the minimum 3.0 cumulative undergrad GPA?
I do not think they are strict with the GPA requirement. My friend got a 2.7 in her undergrad but did really good in her pre-reqs and she was accepted.
I got a B or better in all of my pre-req. I had a B for chemistry and the other courses I had an A or a B+

I'm in the middle of completing the prerequisite for the accelerated program at FDU. However, I have no idea where to take the Bioethics class around here in Bergen county. Do you happen to know?
