nursing school decision help! (Un. of Memphis)

Published

Hello all,

I am about to start nursing school and I am hitting a major wall.

I have heard some very scary, negative things about the school I am about to attend (University of Memphis) in regards to their new nursing curriculum. I know many students who either dropped or failed with this new curriculum in place, and so it greatly worries me as to my future there as a student. Can anyone who is in the new curriculum or knows anything about it please help me out? Am I wasting my time and money trying to go this nursing school? Should I maybe investigate a new program of nursing? If so, does anyone know of a better school in TN,AR, or MS? Thanks so much! Any help or honest comments would be greatly appreciated before it's too late!

What is it about the new curriculum that is so bsd? I looked at it and it seems like a pretty standard 5 semester program.

I have heard the workload is so very intense that it is next to impossible to keep up and keep your sanity at the same time. I have heard the teaching is very fast paced and that students do a lot of self-teaching. That is a scary thought when these same students are coming out to be nurses in the end. Plus the ultimate factor of how many have dropped already with the new curriculum.
