Nursing School Accreditation Question

Nurses General Nursing

So I go to a Nursing (BSN) program in TN & the school I attend is ACEN accredited and it is pursuing accreditation for CCNE as well but I read somewhere that grad schools only accept students who went to CCNE accredited schools. Also I'm looking to move back to NY for graduate school once I complete my degree. Will going to a ACEN accredited school hinder me from getting a graduate degree in Nursing or even me getting a job?

ACEN and CCNE accreditation is pretty much interchangeable. As long as your school has one of them, you should be fine. You can look at the admission requirements of different grads schools to see this. For undergraduate, CCNE only accredits bachelor’s programs, while ACEN accredits diploma, ASN, or BSN.

My ADN program was not accredited. I had NO difficulty getting into a BSN or MSN program. My BSN, however, was both.

Also, I had 0 difficulty landing ANY job with my ADN.
