Anyone out there have info on the school in Arecibo, PR? It is a 24 month program that begins in August.

I'd love to hear anything, thanks.

Do you know when the next orientation is???

The nursing director, name starts with an A, helped me out a lot during the orientation. I'm not sure how helpful she'll be over the phone or email but if no one else is able to answer your question on the phone and if you get a hold of her or her assistant, I'm sure they'll be able to tell you when the next orientation will be.

Oh thats okay i'll ask E. I'm planning to visit this month but maybe I should go when the next orientation is. Thanks :D!

No problem!

Thanks Igee!! I'll look for her email online and email her! Thanks so much for the tip! :D

Does anyone know how much Metropolitan University costs? not much info on their webbie, also, how long is the bsn to complete there for people that already have a degree in another subject pls?

Here is the cost of attendance as set out by UIPR (produced Jan 2009) :

This is for a student living on their own (not w/ their family)

TUITION $ 3,696.00

FEES $ 1,262.00

BOOKS $ 894.00

FOURTH $ 4,761.00

FOOD $ 4,500.00

TRANSPORTATION $ 1,800.00

PERSONAL EXPENSES $ 3,878.00

TOTAL BUDGET $ 20,791.00

This is simply what is put out by the university so your tuition could be higher if you take more credits. Any thoughts from folks? Does your budget match up w/ the above, or how is it different? I was personally thinking the food budget was a little high, but I've never been to Puerto Rico...."

He is current student. As for the program, it takes about 2 years if you have a bachelors (in any degree) and about 3 years if you dont have a degree.

The previous poster is not asking about the Inter, Don't get confused kevano51 that budget is for the Inter. I will say that they are going to end up costing you about the same. The only way to know how long it will take you at UMET is to ask the director by having your transcripts evaluated, and good luck with that lol.

@Kevano51: Oops! sorry! I thought you were talking about Inter! Yeah, Belle is right, that information I provided you was for Inter not for UMET.

Sorry I cant help ya :(

Ok, thanks! Im just thinking that UMET might sound better on a resume...any former students out there in the workplace care to chime in here??

I don't think that UMET would sound any better on a resume. My best friend works at an eyeglass place in Orlando, and there were probably 4 ophthalmologists working there that went to La Inter. I know those are doctors, but if the school has a good reputations for doctors it must be the same for nurses.

If the school was crappy it probably wouldn't have gotten continuing accreditation for the BSN and initial accreditation for the ADN. I personally love my school. Even though it may be frustrating at times, that's just Puerto Rico for you. Inter all the way baby :)

I agree with designer-mommy, it may be disorganized and cause unnecessary stress but it obviously is doing something right.

I found housing through a friend who has been here for about 2 yrs, shes a student at UIPR. Send me msg if any girls would like more info (girls only house, sorry boys)......I don't think its that expensive to rent a car it depends how long u keep it for, i have one for this week, and im afraid of how it's going to be when i have to use public transportation!!

Hi can u PM me the info for the housing?
