nursing program with 2 little ones. realistic?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey everyone! I am wanting to go through the nursing program but my main concern is my family. I have a 3yr old and 10 month old. I am a sahm but I am planning on going to school this spring. I would like your input on how do-able the nursing program is with 2 small children. I know it will give my children a better future and they will also be proud. Thanks :)

I believe that where there is a will there is a way! I did prereqs at a community school, some online, some hybrid, evenings. I am married and my husband was home from work then. I also worked part time ( and still do) as a cna at a hospital nights. I just started nursing school this fall and the program started 4 weeks after I delivered my third child. The semester is ending and I am passing :-)Its a juggle, its stressful, but its worth it and we are doing it.. somedays we wonder how,GL!
Hi, what kind of nursing program are you in, ASN or BSN?

Hi, my kids will be 4,5 and 6 when I start my BSN program in August. I'm very nervous but I'm getting organized now and making sure my support is in place. I know people with very little support who have graduated from nursing programs. You can do it! Good luck:).

I'm sure you can do it! Time management is important in anything us mothers do, and school is no different. My daughter's father and I are separated, so she goes to his house every weekend so I'll have time to study and do homework. I also will be leaving my job to have more time to concentrate on school.

We can do eet!

It is very possible I myself have 2 children as well (one 7yrs old and the other 10 months) and so far I am doing excellent in my nursing program but I also don't work. You just have to put the two little ones on a set schedule and study while they are either taking a nap, while they are asleep at night time, and or if other friends/family members have them good luck :)

Definitely do-able. My friend graduated nursing school one week ago. She made it through nursing school while raising 3 small children, working a job, and going through a divorce. Where there's determination, anything is possible. Good luck!
