Just be yourself and be honest that's the best way. Be sure to tell them why nursing is important to you

I luckily did not have an interview to get into my nursing program. I get extremely anxious when put on the spot, so interviews are a nightmare for me! Generally, for any interview, you want to have a professional appearance (as in, don't wear jeans or have your hair sprouting crazy accessories). Ideally, you want to anticipate the types of questions you have and tailor some of your personal experiences to those. Preparation can save you a lot of anxiety so you're not "umm-ing" and "err-ing" throughout your answers. I always have a few stories in mind that demonstrate my strengths (customer service skills, leadership skills, etc.). And for your weaknesses, be honest. I try to avoid the "perfectionist" weakness, since that seems to be overused these days. A few of mine that I use are my timidness (and then I'll explain how I've stepped out of my comfort zone to speak up and take initiatives, and it has become easier for me to overcome that initial shyness) or my lack of experience in the healthcare field (and I'll state that I hold other strengths, such as I'm a quick learner and always looking for feedback on my performance so I can improve my skills). Good luck! Always be honest.

My interview is this Monday, so I am not speaking from experience. I googled just about every possible question they could ask me and typed out an in-depth answer, just to prepared. I also thoroughly researched my nursing school's website and formulated some questions that I can ask my interviewer (the Dean of Nursing). The Nursing Handbook was also online, so I read through that as well. Just show your interviewer that you are prepared and clearly thinking about the future.
