Nursing paper help

Published

Hey guys! I am a nursing student, I have one more semester left before I graduate, yay!

I have this assignment (paper ugh) coming up for school which is mainly based on an interview with an RN. The person that I originally sent these interview questions to fell through, and now I am running short on time to write my paper and still don't have these interview questions. I was wondering if any of you RN's out there are willing to answer a few questions relating to what you do as a nurse. I could email them to you, and give you a few days or even a week to answer them. I don't know what else to do considering I don't personally know any nurses so I decided to give this a try. It would help me immensely! Thank you in advance.

Since it is an assignment and for school work, attempt to interview a nurse from your clinical rotations. I am assuming that you would be required to list the name, position of the nurse you are interviewing. Unfortunately, allnurses is anonymous and I'm not sure how many nurses here would be willing to relinquish that information. Best wishes to you.

This assignment comes up constantly on this board and I've never seen anyone volunteer. You're essentially asking the nurse to write an essay of sorts for you ...as opposed to being interviewed verbally and you doing the work yourself. Like the previous poster mentioned, this is a fairly anonymous place. There are also "nurses" on here that I'm pretty sure are NOT nurses. There's no verification. All you've got to do is check a little box and "RN" pops up next to your name.

Think of a plan B while you still have time.

This can be anonymous. And yes I've tried my clinical rotation, one of the RNs there agreed to do it and she asked me to email her the questions so I did a while ago, and my clinical is over and haven't heard back from her. I can't just go back there and I've tried asking my clinic but they're on the job and don't have time to sit there and answer me.

Here are the questions if anyone is willing to help out:

Who did you interview? What is their role? What is the setting of their work as a nurse?

ï‚· What rules and regulations influence their nursing practice?

ï‚· What leadership skills does the nurse possess? Identify leadership skills you feel would be helpful to this nurse based on evidence based

practice.

ï‚· How does the nurse impact quality patient outcomes?

ï‚· How is safety and quality promoted in their facility by the nurses? Does this achieve safe and quality care outcomes for clients experiencing

chronic illness? Based on your research with evidence based practice how could it be improved? What resources could be utilized?

ï‚· How do you handle the unpredictability of your work day? What strategies do you utilize?

ï‚· Does the nurse have the opportunity to advocate for social justice for vulnerable clients in their facility.

ï‚· How does this nurse promote their own personal health and self-renewal. Identify evidence why self-renewal is important.

ï‚· Reflect on the interview. Review what you learned from this interview. What can you implement in your future nursing career? It is ok in

this area to use "I" statements.

As I stated below, I did try my clinical rotation, one of the nurses there agreed to do it, asked me to email her the questions and never got back to my. My clinical is over and I'm kinda stuck. Thank you for the suggestion though.

Who did you interview? What is their role? What is the setting of their work as a nurse?

Without identifying my current location, I am a nurse currently working in a SNF which cares for short-term rehab, long-term care and hospice patients.

ï‚· What rules and regulations influence their nursing practice?

Facility, state and national rules and regulations influence my nursing practice.

ï‚· What leadership skills does the nurse possess? Identify leadership skills you feel would be helpful to this nurse based on evidence based

practice.

I am currently not in a leadership position, but I often assist with orienting new nurses to our facility. I possess the nursing knowledge as well as personal qualities to train and educate new employees.

ï‚· How does the nurse impact quality patient outcomes?

I impact quality patient outcomes by providing safe, competent care. I make sure to assess my residents thoroughly and follow infection control procedures. I advocate for my residents to get higher quality of care when, and if, they need it.

ï‚· How is safety and quality promoted in their facility by the nurses? Does this achieve safe and quality care outcomes for clients experiencing

chronic illness? Based on your research with evidence based practice how could it be improved? What resources could be utilized?

Nurses are routinely educated on procedures that could impact resident safety and quality of care, whether it be through mandatory meetings, competency assessments, or random interviews throughout the work day. For a large majority of cases, this achieves safety and quality care outcomes for our residents. Our long-term care residents live with us, healthy and happy, for many years, while our short-term rehab patients return to their homes within a short amount of time, stronger than they were prior to admission. Many of our short-term rehab patients do not return to us.

I will let you decide how to approach the evidence-based practice portion of this question.

ï‚· How do you handle the unpredictability of your work day? What strategies do you utilize?

I always start my workday looking at the MAR and TAR and write down key things that need to be done including vital signs, treatments, etc. I do not write down all of my medications because that would be too time consuming but do make note of when the patient's next pain medications, nebulizers, insulin, etc. are due.

However, my work day is always unpredictable and writing down key information mostly helps me remember what still needs to be completed when unexpected situations arise.

When my plan for the day is thrown off by multiple requests, I then need to prioritize. If I am in the middle of medication pass, for example, and I am suddenly asked to bring a patient water, I go through with the medication pass, and then visit that other patient. Or, I delegate it to the aides if one is available.

However, if I note that a fall-risk patient is alone in the bathroom, or one of the other staff members reports that a patient is in distress, I tend to stop what I am doing (if it is safe), and go see those patients. Once those patients have been cared for, I resume where I left off.

Does the nurse have the opportunity to advocate for social justice for vulnerable clients in their facility.

In cases of abuse and neglect, we are all mandatory reporters. However, I have not encountered any such situation requiring a need to advocate for social justice.

How does this nurse promote their own personal health and self-renewal. Identify evidence why self-renewal is important.

I make sure that I get enough sleep and try and pack nutritious meals for work. I only stay extra at work if it is something that absolutely needs to be taken care of. Otherwise, I am out of the building at the end of my 12 hour shifts. On my days off, I take some to rest and recuperate, others to do activities that I enjoy, like visiting family and friends, and then others to complete other responsibilities, so I can still keep my energy up. Taking care of oneself is very important, as it is hard to provide good, quality care when you are tired, hungry, or ill.

I hope this helps some.

Based on the fact that one of your questions is "who did you interview?" makes this not anonymous. Once again, good luck to you but this is not how you should be approaching your assignment. You are meant to have an interpersonal interaction with a nurse to facilitate dialogue in order to gather information for your paper. If you do not have options, consider approaching your professors for advice.

Based on the fact that one of your questions is "who did you interview?" makes this not anonymous.

This isn't meant as a "I need the full name of the person" it's just a general question as in RN that works in a hospital or long term care unit. I actually got a couple people willing to help me so thanks for the advice, but if you didn't wanna help you simply could have just not responded. Obviously I considered all of my other options before I posted here, this was a last resort. Nobody in the class actually went and sat down and interviewed someone, it was all email communication. Have a great day. Thank you to the people that offered their help.

Here's the problem with this. First there's no way to know if the person answering is a nurse. We have a few poseurs here. Second, did you look at the questions???? That would take at least an hour of writing and maybe more. Basically we would be writing your paper for you and we've already graduated! I'm not surprised the clinical nurse backed out (although she probably should have let you know). Third, the real point of the exercise is to get you to talk face-to face with a nurse. By doing this you learn so many things. Fourth, I'm pretty sure your professor did not intend for you to get your answers from anonymous folks on the net. This could very well come back and bite you in the butt. I agree with a previous poster. Contact your professor and ask her to help you problem solve how to find a nurse to talk to. Or check with your classmates and see what they've done. I wouldn't wait too long waiting for someone here to answer because it's not likely to happen. We get these kind of requests on the daily and very few of them get responses.

Like I said above, I already got a couple people willing to help but thanks for the input. If you didn't wanna take time out of your day to help, I completely understand but you simply could have just not responded. Nobody is writing my paper for me, these questions are a tiny fraction of my paper, and the clinical nurse asked me to send her the questions instead of doing a face to face interview. Maybe you should keep your judgements to yourself, and again, you didn't have to answer. Have a great day!

I can see why the nurse who initially agreed ended up blowing this off. These questions are really involved and cumbersome. If she were to email you the answers she would essentially be writing your paper.

This assignment really does require a face-to-face interview. Not appropriate to have someone on the internet email you the responses. Good luck with this.

And maybe you should grow up. I was nicely, without judgement, explaining why you were getting push back but with your attitude nobody is going to want to help you in the future. Congratulations on shooting yourself in the foot right out of the gate. And thank you, I WILL have a great day!
