Nursing Students Online Learning

Updated:   Published

I am enrolled in the RN-MSN program at Aspen University and after finishing the first two courses I feel that this has been a great choice. If anyone out there is looking for an affordable program with solid nursing content check out Aspen. :yeah:

Is there anyone currently enrolled or recent graduate from the MSN program from Aspen out there? I only find old post and would like to know how the current status of the program is..

Hi there, i am a current student. I started Jan 2017.

How is everything going, Vision 1969?

How do you feel about the MSN program at Aspen? Is it satisfactory? I am interested in on line Informatics MSN. Please advise I want to make the right decision. Thank you: Jeannie Atlanta GA.

I have been taking 2 courses at a time. I stop on a Monday and I start the next courses on Tuesday. It is kinda challenging but doable. My current professor is taking APA too far. But I just have to endure him for 3 more weeks. If I keep up at this I will be done in April 2018

I have been going to Aspen for way too long (2.5 years) off and on. I love the school. I will have my BSN sometime early in 2018. I could finish sooner but my employer is reimbursing me and since I recently switched from RN-MSN to the RN-BSN my tuition reimbursement is less. Why did I switch? Because I have been dragging my feet, too many personal obligations, and in case I wanted to do an NP program, I didn't want to get too far ahead of myself. It is easier for me to just earn my BSN and really take time to figure what I can commit to. I was afraid if I went too far and didn't finish, I would have wasted my time and credits.

They are the most supportive school ever. Strangely when I call they easily help me as if I am one of their only students. Oh and they give a military discount to spouses too so I literally pay $250/credit. You CANNOT beat that!

Thank you for the update. I am glad you will have your BSN soon. I will achieve mine in May 2018. It has taken me two years part time to achieve BSN but I am getting there.

Let me know when you graduate!

Thank you:

I took two classes at a time till the course right before practicum. Simply because Aspen does not allow students to take practicum courses with another course. I am now in my first practicum course. Its been moving smoothly. The key is not to give up, put in the effort and have great APA. I have had A's in all 9 courses taken so far. Next I will take my second practicum course and then the capstone. There is a proctored exam at the end. Not sure what to expect. My motto is, "I can and I will".

I'm thinking of enrolling in either their MSN in Public Health or Nursing Education. For those who have already taken the practicum course, does the university offer much help in finding a location and preceptor to work with for that course. That's really my only fear with online program is that I will have difficulty with that. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
