group project - online program

I am involved in a group project in my online BSN/MSN program. At the end we have to evaluate each member of the group. I would like to honestly evaluate each member but another member is encouraging me to just go ahead and give every member an equal rating even if they were slackers in the group. What do you think? I dont want to be the spoiler in the group but there were members who did not contribute much to the project.

I was unfairly evaluated many, many years ago and have always been careful about how I approach this task. I think you should give favorable evaluations if the person contributed, however, if someone slacked off, I would be honest. Don't reward someone who is expecting something for nothing. It might come back to harm your grade. Just think how much easier the project would have been, and possibly how much better an effort would have been produced, had the slackers pulled their own weight. Everyone should do some of the work, even if that rarely happens.
