Anyone out there with experience in nursing in Norway? I read WHO raked their country's medical system at #11. The U.S. was ranked around #38. I'm looking into immigrating to another country and Norway seemed interesting. Any information would be helpful.
Thanks so much. :bowingpur

Are you fluent in Norwegian? You would need to be.
I'm sloowwly learning Norwegian. The problem is I have no one to practice with.
Have you worked there? If yes, what was it like?

Jeg elsker Norge. Been there for 5 years now. Have been working in nursing homes. Haven't tried hospital yet. They pay better in nursing homes maybe because it's tougher i.e. more work than in hospitals. They have more requirements for one to be a RN now compared to when we started. Language is the biggest obstacle. But if we learned it. So can you!

Sounds like fun and challenging! May be you could start by borrowing audio CD from the library to learn the language and try to communicate with Norwegian nurses (I am pretty sure that they speaks english... this to present yourself).
Let us know how you got through!
