Nursing major with 2 minors

you would need to get your school's handbook and go under those majors and look to see what classes are required for a minor. likely you would need to go to your admissions office and fill out paperwork to declare the minors. I would make sure that 2 minors is feasible for you while doing the nursing program, they can add up to quite a few classes.

Okay so I decided that I want to get my Master's in Nursing. I decided that a long time ago. But since I have many interests, I have also decided to minor in psychology AND nutrtion. How would I go about doing that?

I just finished my BSN with minors in Biology & Psychology. It's possible, but sometimes hard to fit in extra classes due to clinicals. At our school, nursing majors fulfilled an automatic minor in Biology (as long as they declared it) due to the science classes that we had to take. So I declared that minor since it was one I was going to complete the work for anyways. In order to complete the psychology minor I had to choose three extra psychology classes (beyond the general psych & growth and development courses that we already had to take for nursing). See if perhaps any psychology or nutrition classes you already may have to take for nursing may be counted for your major & used toward a minor as well. Don't forget that if you find it close to the end of your program & that minor classes don't fit into your schedule, you can always drop the minor if needed. I would reccomend talking to someone in the departments you're interested in minoring in to see if other nursing majors have done this before, and how they think it would work.

I also want to eventually go to grad school (I'm in nursing school). I'm interested in science, and would love to delve further into topics that interest me, but I find nursing school to be challenging. I have gotten straight As so far (hooray!), but do work very hard for my grades.

I personally think it's important to, sure, be balanced in life, but for goals, to be focused. My biggest goal is to become a nurse practitioner or nurse anesthetist, and I need to maintain a high GPA (esp for the CNA acceptance), if I want a chance at this dream.

If you can handle more classes on top of nursing courses though, and excel at all of those courses, I'd say go for it! If you weren't with the goal of getting into grad school, I'd think grades aren't so important, but if you want grad school, make sure you do well with all you take on before taking on more regarding class load.

I guess the question you should ask yourself is...why do you want to add two minors? I feel like minors aren't really that important and although I picked up a minor in Psychology, I would like to go to grad school for psyc eventually so I think it will help balance out my BSN in nursing. Two minors seems a little excessive. I don't even know if Masters programs have minors. Check with your school though.
