Today I learned that FL state will join the other 20 states in Nursing Licensure Compact.
Meaning, it will allow FL nurses to have a multi state license.
My question is; I am moving in WA state this year. I'm planning to keep my FL license just in case I end up doing travel nursing or moving back to FL in a few years.
They said that I have to be a permanent resident on a compact state in order to have a multistate license. My question is:
Will I be able to keep my FL RN license if my address is WA state?
if yes, will my FL RN license be automatically a multi state license once the NurseLicensureCompact take effect on December 31, 2018?
Please advise. Thanks.

Yes, there is no residency requirement to maintain your FL RN license.
Only if you maintain residency in the state of FL.

Whoever "they" are is right. Your FL license will remain valid as long as you continue to renew it, but it will not have multi-state "compact privileges" unless you are maintaining a permanent residence in the state of FL; once you move out of state, it will become a "traditional," single-state license (only good in FL).
Thank you!

This reminds me of when I was getting different licenses. My original license is Indiana (non-compact state). I was interviewing for a residency in NC , so I got a single state NC (compact state) license. I ended up taking a job in KY (compact state). My initial license for KY was a single state until I moved to KY and it became a multi-state. When my KY license was made multi-state, my NC license was no longer valid (not sure the status on their website).

Need advise, I applied for a multi license application but unfortunately my school meesed up my credentials and the Evaluator mentioned that I am deficient. Though it was an error it was sent to BON, now my application is expired and there was no action taken and my license is still clear. What should I do? (License by endorsement and upgrading to compact)
