yeah i thought the same with NO overtime pay, but i read the policy for workers (exempt and non) and it sayus we can get OT if it is approved by manager, the problem isnt even about OT bc the salary is decent, but the problem is the DEMAND of having to work past 5pm and its only towards ME nobody else. which i think is unfair, plus I dont eat lunch several days out of the week and i told maneger and nobody cares :!
So, the policy says you can get paid overtime if approved by your manager, and your manager isn't willing to approve it. Who is your manager's superior? Are the other people leaving on time every day in the same position as you? If you seriously feel that you're being treated unfairly, compared to other employees doing the same job, I would raise my concerns with my manager and then, if not satisfied with the response, consider going to the next person up the ladder.
Your ultimate, final option, of course, is to find another job.
Best wishes!

I posted a comment before but earlier this week my manager told me because I am salary, i cannot claim overtime (when the policy states i can), then the manager proceeded on to say "i can make you work as much as i want", i do not work in a hospital setting its more an outpatient, everybody is out of the office at 5pm I dont even get to eat lunch many days out of the week because there is so much work. I don tknow how to tackle this? I told the supervising MD he agrees I should be going home at a decent time. I also informed manager that basically, I live 1.5 hours away, i need to leave at a reasonable time, manager didnt care. I also noticed work is being given at 3:40 and the manager well on knows that it will take more than 1 hour to complete it (which pushes me over 5). How do i tackle this?
