Do you have a portfolio as a experienced RN? Not the kind they have you make in nursing school for your first job interviews. This would be something that you'd use for other departments, lateral moves, promotions, etc. In my case, I'm applying for jobs in the same hospital where I work.

Yes ... but it is structured very loosely. I just save the products produced by key projects that I have worked on. I then can use them as examples of my work whenever I need them. (E.g. classes that I have taught, booklets I have written, etc.)

I keep a complete vitae/resume updated (at least twice per year). It's long -- about 9 pages -- and goes back to the beginning of my career in the 1970's. I can then take that and reduce it down and/or revise it be to just what I need whenever I want to use it for something.

When I need that sort of information or document, I have it readily available so that I don't have to hunt for it or try to reconstruct it. But I do revise the material to suit the situation each time I need it.
