Is it a smart career move considering the economy? Is it possible this will be a good field once the economy (IF) picks up again?
Are there a lot of schools that teach it?
Any info. on the career would be appreciated.
Walmart has no plans to start creating HISs.
As a matter of fact the systems/vendor - eClincialWorks, mentioned in this article- is the vendor for both New York city's Primary Care Information Project and the Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative.
Both two of the successful initiatives to help primary care practioners adopt EHRs.
Walmart would just be the ........... coordinator of software, hardware and implementation services.

You'll need some clinical background. But it depends on the employer, and also on where you are.
