Don't blame the company. If there is noly a governing body before that controls the number of incoming BSNs, this wouldn't happen. They are offering jobs in such a way that nurses (both old and new) do not have to be idle. It's like 250,000 RNs against 1,000 hospitals. If only these hospitals accept 250 nurses per hospital, it wouldn't be a problem.

It's not just the credibility which is at stake, but the most important are the core competencies which we got from our BSN days, our RLEs which is very vital in our studies. And one more thing, the passion and committment to our (not job) but more of a vocation, we're still young and yet to experience so much more. Think of it as a trial to your profession.

I'm a little off topic but hope this works :)

Regarding that CS Assoc, does this mean all of the applications passed from this day on will only be considered to as "this job description"?

And who among you guys finished their medicals last March 2009 and yet to be called for training? Hoping for a good reply :)

Hey guys..to those who already have underwent the exams/interview.. what is the best time to go to Cathedral Hts to pass your credentials? ( 9am? or are they still accommodating applicants even after lunch? )

Will the initial exam and interview be done at the same day you go there?

Thanks! :)

Been to Cathedral Heights this morning and found out that even I become a part of the manpooling. I didn't know how this become possible after passing my credentials and medicals to the HR 2nd week of March and just as Ma'am Gihanna told me, I waited... (for nothing?).. if this is about to happen, they should have told me already about it.

For those who wanted to apply, you can still submit your resume, you might be called and get an exam or interview but this is for manpooling purposes only (reserve list)

i just would like to ask if St.Luke's is accepting second courser,RN? thanks :specs:

To kyckerz, honestly, I'm not attending classes in group dynamics lately (Very bad!) because of conflicts with my professor. Clue: I was supposedly a Psyche major, but switched to Medical-Surgical because of her. Anyway, let's not focus on that. I just sent my classmate a message on friendster about your inquiry. I assume he opens his account every now and then. *Crossed fingers.

No calls from St. Luke's yet?

To kyckerz again, I'm sorry, I replied without reading your most recent post here.

So, you were informed that your application is for manpower pooling? It must have been disappointing for you, as you waited so long for their call.

It wasn't the HR who informed me. It was the person from outside the HR suites. The thing here is that never mentioned of me becoming a part of the manpooling, meaning to say i should be included in their training because of not informing me about it. As she said, "Your papers are still not here so we're going to call you". Should they have informed me about this or should I consider what he said about "even those who finished their medicals are in manpooling already"?

This is a reply of my e-mail asking about the manpooling and here is the reply:

Dear *******,

Thank you for your interest in St.Luke's Medical Center - Global City.

Am glad Ms. Gianna told you that you are for manpower pooling already and will serve as

reserve. We have actually completed our requirements for nurses.

Your application shall be in our active pool and will also be endorsed to Quezon City

for their needs.

Best regards

Odess

To Kyckerz, that's sad.after weeks and weeks of waiting, and maybe expecting to become a part of the training, you'll get a response like that. urgggh. I'd feel the same way if I was in your shoes. What are your plans now? I can imagine the same scenario when I follow up my application in QC, so you're prolly not alone.I saw my classmate's training pics in SLMC QC, they're a large batch; filling up an entire classroom. They sure look like they're having fun. My classmate says training's stressful but fun. We can only imagine.

My plans so far... ummm... get myself drunk (and have liver cirhhosis, hepatitis, liver cancer), smoke (Bronchial & Lung Ca), eat fatty foods (CAD, MI, CVA), have affair with GROs (STD, AIDS) and make a scandal (violation of .. hehe seriously I still have an application for another hospital and hoping to land on it. I already established communication with the HR VP and telling me that my papers will be endorsed to SLMC-QC for manpooling or as a reserve for GC. I am not really envying those who are already in training. I'm happy that they land on the job that they want.

yes, Let me join the club. I'd also self mutilate; shop impulsively and smoke non-stop (borderline personality disorder), binge-eat then starve (bulimia nervosa), feel sick as a result of unfulfilled needs like not getting the job i want(psychosomatic disorder and conversion disorder), become attached and dependent (dependent personality disorder), bargain and become mad (depression) then join you in Alcoholics Anonymous. hehe.

Well, yes, you're right, we should not envy those who got hired. They deserve it. No one can predict that we won't get a job in the "dream" tertiary hospitals, we can only do our best to increase our chances of succeeding.

Succeeding yes, I was actually thinking that after 1 year of their contract, we'd be called 6 months prior to their "end of contract" and the cycle of NSET-probi-staffing goes on and on every year. Who knows, I might get called if I'm already in the US. :)
