Nursing homes in the bronx and cna on the job training

Published

I don't know if it's me but all morning I've been calling different nursing homes in the bronx asking if they provide on the job training and none of the people know! How do I break it down to the them? They're response to me it's like I'm speaking in alien!

I did my interning at St Vincent De Paul's. I don't think they offer free training though. Every nursing home in NY is required to have their CNA's state certified. I know Hostos College had a lot of people who received cheap training because they got government assistance. They also did their internship at St Vincent's. Good luck.

Call the American Red Cross in your area. First Aid, AED & CPR Training Courses | Take a Class | Red Cross They will give you information about where/how to find grant money for taking CNA classes. Ask more than one office if you don't get the info....somewhere someone will tell you the info!

Sorry you haven't found any resources yet. Don't give up, you'll get there!!!

ABC Training Center (Bronx,NY)

Above is another training center. Go to the admissions office and ask questions about financial aid...they want your business as a student, they will help you find the funding!! If this center isn't nearby you, just do a google search for CNA training in your area and then stop in and ask, ask ask!

Good luck!

Yes that's originally were I wanted to take the course at the cost isn't to bad but still too much for me at this moment. I also tried work force but they told me I had to come back because they didn't have any available appointments and they didn't have no details to give me and I know hostos has that pipeline program but you have to receive cash assistance and all that other government help. Which I find crazy because I am trying to build a career so I don't have to depend on government help. Thanks I'll keep trying Hopefully god opens a door for me.

I'm going to try the Red Cross to see about the grants I cant even get a student loan so a grant would be nice. And yea that's not too far but I went to Everest institute and it was a bad experience for me and waste of money so I try not to look into those technical schools. I am not giving up I really want my cna because I will have income to support my family but if I can't get that I will go for lpn they take financial aid and after certain classes I was told you can qualify as a cna. I'm gonna look into that as well. Thank you so much I really appreciate it.
