Curious, where are the lines for calling out sick from work?

Cats are little ***. I've had a lot of them, and called in because they were sick too.

I felt very blessed when my manager was graceful enough to let me be 4 hours late as a provider to the clinic when my dog woke me up by throwing up unceremoniously on me in the bed. Gave me time to get her to the vet and toss the linen in the wash. . . and stop dry heaving myself. Pets can be just as bad as kids sometimes. ?

I would have bid my fairwells to that animal and made surgical incisions on the affected areas of contact on myself.

Haha. Never. That poor girl has been with me for almost 13 years now and is one of the best dogs I've ever raised. She was sick and needed my help and was trying to alert me. She couldn't help it hit her again right as she was waking me up. Poor girl. It's rare that she gets sick. Besides, it still didn't smell anywhere near as bad as opening up a pilonidal abscess.

I am particularly despairing of colleagues who drag themselves into work when they are clearly infectious.

That has somewhat abated since the advent of Covid. Our management roams around and anyone observed to have symptoms is sent home.

They look so pathetic when they are sick. Like when a child throws up for the first time, and they are so shocked.
