Anyone else taking this course this term? I have heard it's not that bad but that there is a lot of thinking about thinking. I guess here the fun "critical thinking" begins!! I think we have to write two papers.

My nursing " foundations I class", was super easy. You could pass it while sleeping. I'm not kidding. It went over the basics of basics. It was the class that you take to become a certified nursing aide.
We didn't have any papers to write. Our clinicals were in the nursing home. We learned how to make beds, feed , bathe and transfer pt's.
My Nursing foundations II was alot more exciting. We learned to give shots & draw up meds, insert & remove foley caths, insert & remove naso-gastric tubes, sterile and non-sterile dressing changes, wraps, learned how to discontinue IVs. We learned how to chart, learned nursing abbreviations and some other's things that I can't remember right now. It was a lot of fun, but you couldn't sleep through this class and pass. I hope your classes will be similar.
wanted to add : The critical thinking does start with these classes which is evident in our tests. Say good-bye to the black and white answers , there will be no more. Make sure not to over analyze anything though, everytime I did it, I got the answers wrong . Go with your first instinct, and do not change your answer unless your 100% sure.
Good luck and enjoy your class
