I am in a difficult predicament right now...
I am a pre nursing student who has been working to finish up all my pre requisites before applying in to nursing school. I have a GPA of 2.082 right now, and if I work hard next semester and get all A's and B's in my classes I will be looking at a 3.2 GPA. I have a C in Microbiology, C in A&P I, B+ in Chemistry, and I still need to finish my A&P II and Nutrion class next semester. My question: What are my chances of getting in to the nursing program with the grades I have right now.
ps: I have yet to take the TEAS.

Well it all depends on what school you're planning to apply. You have to narrow down your choices and contact them to find out their admission criteria.
For example where I'll be attending, they accepted me with a 3.7 GPA (cumulative) and all A's for my science courses.
It's all different depending on where you want to go.
Many times, private, for profit schools have lower standards, though tuition is way higher and many times nclex passing rates are pretty low.
You should try to pull up those grades, science courses are crucial and nursing school acceptance is competitive.
Good luck and apply yourself

Really varies by the program you're applying for. But the higher score you can get in your prereqs, the better. As the PP said, programs are super competitive.

You are not going to get into the nursing program with those low grades. I am not trying to be mean, and I am being honest here. Especially nowadays since everyone wants to get into the nursing program and there are limited seats. If all of those seats are filled with straight A students with a 90% or higher on their teas what do you think is your chance of getting in? Just trying to help you out.

Good luck
I will not say you will never get in because never is a big word to use. I know some programs that only require a 2.0. I have known people who have gotten in with that GPA. The school I attend has the GPA set at 2.0. There are always around 400 applicants and only 65 spots. During orientation, I ran into people I knew. Some I knew for a fact had retaken classes. Some even shared their GPA an it was in the low 2's. The nursing school I attend is in the top ten in my state.
Thank you for all the advice and honesty.
I plan on retaking my science classes and getting an A in all of them.
After I do that I will then take my TEAS.
Will retaking my classes and passing with an A make me a more competitive candidate?

That would depend on if your school takes the highest grade or if they average the grades.
Even averaging, you could pull a B which will be better if you are at a cut throat school.
