when i was in nursing school ten years ago, we were told that if we ever continued on in our nursing degrees, that our nursing courses would count as CEU's for our license renewal. however, i do not know the formula to figure it out.
does anyone here know? i tried to call BON, however, i was on hold over 30 minutes, and couldn't wait anylonger, and it is not on the website.
thanks!

I believe that its every 50 minutes counts as I CEU.

I, too, live in Michigan and am taking classes. I have always known that I didn't have to worry about continuing education contact hours because of it, but I looked up the info on the web for you and here is what I found:
You can earn all of your required contact hours through an approved education program.
You earn 5 contact hours for EACH semester credit for academic coursework related to nursing
If your school is on quarters instead of semesters you earn 3 contact hours for each credit hour of coursework.
Here is the link. Click on Nursing CE requirements under Nursing Licensing Information and it will take you to a pdf file. The specific information is on the second page Rule 2 ©. Hope this helps you.

awesome guys!
thanks so much! since i've taken 30 credits of nursing classes in the last year, i won't have to worry about any more ceu classes (though i have about 10 ceu hours as well). my license is up on the 31rst this year.
