Hi there-
Yes we all make stupid mistakes. Were you arrested when you got caught? Were you charged or convicted with anything? In many states, you have to report to the BON if you were convicted. And when you renew your license, the application may ask if you have been arrested, and in that case you will have to check YES and provide an explanation. I got arrested while in nursing school and having to check that "YES" box on my application felt horrible... But if you check NO on a question asking if you got arrested (assuming you did) and the BON finds out, then you will be in big trouble.
Check your state BON for further information: North Carolina Board of Nursing

i'm very ashamed of admitting this, but the anoniminity of the internet helps... i was caught shoplifting at a local store - i am not sure why i did it, and that is not the point of my thread - i just thought about the possibility that this could affect my nursing license?? i live in north carolina if that makes a reference.
