Published

Hay all I have a question my mother was an LPN and there is a photo of her wareing her white cap it would have been taken between 1960-1972 she passed away last year and I still can not find that cap anywhere there is no way she would have trash it .

So can some one tell me if you get to keep them or where they just used for photos at graduation ?

I just graduated in Dec 2010 and one of my classmates bought caps for all of us that say RN 2010. We got our picture taken with them on and we made the local paper. It is in my closet where I can look at it every day, but I'm glad i don't have to wear one to work!

We actually had 2. We got a blue one halfway through school, at our capping. When we graduated we got white ones with our school logo on them. The blue ones had to be worn to clinicals all through the last half of school. I graduated in 1979. Thank goodness we don't wear them anymore. More than once I got mine caught in the ortho trapezzes, and it really hurt. People wore caps quite a bit when I first graduated. I can't remember the year I quit wearing mine.:nurse:

kay's caps, oh my god, how long has it been since i heard that name.

Aw honey, I am so sad to hear of your mother's passing. I know that the cap will be important to you. I hope that you can find it, but if you can't, try contacting her nursing school. Perhaps they can send you one.

Hugs to you, Trek.
