why is nursing that bad ?

I just dont get it ! Why is nursing that bad a profession?:confused:

( can someone please tell me BEFORE I begin my study ! )

I was just reading a thread from another

person and she was saying how she had quit her job and she was planing on sueing the hospital!!!!!:(

I mean i know that work is just that work, but surley it isn't that bad or no one would be in the profession.

I already have an opinion on the nursing perfession.

Thats why i posted the thread to get OTHER peoples opinions.

As I am not in the perfession yet, I thought it would be interesting to hear off other people and their day to day experences.

Just to let u know Im not that easerly influenced.

Don't forget that a lot of the nurses that are posting on this forum are from the USA and they do not always have it as good as it is here:D

To be honest there is good and bad in every job not just nursing.

Lacie - This message board is also used as a resource for people to vent about issues in their workplace. I do believe that the vast majority of people who are nurses really enjoy their jobs. Sure, as with every profession there are negative aspects to the job and workplace politics. Nearly every nurse I know continues nursing because they enjoy the little thank you's patients give you and the feeling you also achieve when you help someone is their time of need. Nursing sure has it's problems, but I believe the rewards are even greater.

Absolutley what you said - surely nursing is ALWAYS that bad as no one would be in the profession. I try to live by the saying life is what you make it.

I agree with u - Life is waht u make it . And u know what, I cant wait to be an RN. I truly think that the girls and guys that go to work each day and take care of people deserve a medel.

Nothing would make me prouder to say "Yeah, Im a nurse " and my time will come. It just seems sometimes that there is alot of people who are just so unhappy (they might have had a bad day).

I understand that in every profession there are problems ( Im an ex hairdresser and beleave me, there are problems there ) but you go and u keep going. Why ? for those people who u might have affected in some small way.:p Thats why I want to be a nurse:nurse:

Nursing is great; make no mistake caring and helping heal others is a great way to spend your days. We do it because we are caring and sharing people (Us Pisces are anyway).

What is BAD is Administration, intrahospital politics, doctors, Allied health staff, shift work, public holiday work, emergencies and all the other rubbish WORKING nurses have to endure.

These forums are a great way for us to let off steam to an audience that can understand where our frustrations come from. :o The blokes down the pub sure wouldn't.
