Hi! Its my first time on this website and i was wondering if i could get more information about apu, high desert. Im planning to transfer next year spring (2016), and I was wondering when the best time to apply (deadlines?).Plus, i was wondering about the housing system at high desert. I also read about the interviews. Any tips would be helpful and appreciated:)

I suggest you go on their website and email the Nursing admissions coordinator cause I know the APU High Desert website itself can be very vague. I emailed her once before but she was out of office. I heard they take in students 3 times a year - Fall, Spring, and Summer.

They said to apply one semester before entry

OMGAWD!!! This is great! I thought I was the only one applying for the high desert program this coming spring and was gonna be stuck there by my lonesome self. I have taken a lot of classes and have 87+ units already, but that was originally intended for cal states. So I contacted ------------------------, she is the one I have been talking to, and found out I still have 5 classes to take, according to the list of their curriculum, so my GPA looks lower than it actually is. I am also concurrently applying to the COPE program in hopes it will help at least since my stats are not good. The GPA according to them is a 2.6 T^T But she said they consider everything, not just the GPA, so that is why I had to consider private schools vs public. *sigh* I also wanna know if anyone has any input and can recommend any other nursing schools that I can apply to, because the ADN programs are an option, but I am worried out of my mind because you are not guaranteed admission into the ADN-BSN program even after getting passing the NCLEX and getting your license. Can anyone recommend which route is the best to go? I would love to get my BSN as fast as possible, but.... it doesn't matter if in the end I can't find a job with my degree. Everything would be in vain. Has anyone graduated from the BSN program and found jobs? I would like to know the stats of the unemployment rate with nurses especially since California is becoming so saturated with nurses and it is getting so competitive. Thank you all my nurses I appreciate it greatly and all the lovely hard work you do.

That's great!! I was hoping to get into the spring term but I just got accepted into the summer cohort!!
Well now im not sure about defering enrollment until summer to give myself time to save money.
I dont want to but i feel it might be the responsible thing to do. Im trying to decide by tonight
I'm definitely thinking the same thing. I am really trying to save before I get in because having a job while in the program seems almost close to impossible. I would love to start in the spring because ive been waiting for over a year but as long as I'm in its okay
I would definitely be willing to trade with you if you needed summer term
Yea i already accepted spring yesterday
Hopefully u can still get in though!

Hi Lady,
Congrats on getting in APU. I know this post is a few months old I hope you are still there. I was wondering if I could ask a few questions like:
1. Where did you take your GE classes
2. How long did it take for you to complete your GE classes
3.What was your GPA
4. Did you have work experience
- I am now working on my GE classes
-Hope you hear from you soon:sneaky:
1. I took my GE at Moreno Valley College/ RCC
2. About 3 years (working, school, being a mom)
3. Reg GPA 3.4 Science GPA 4.0
4. Nothing medical or volunteer hours
I wish you lots of luck anymore questions i'm an open book
