Hello all, I am curios as I have provided comfort meds and comfort measures and post mortem care and I love being there to pray with their spirit as they travel to heaven.
A coworker of mine said something about hitchhiker ghosts, bad spirits that are there when people pass ?

I would be curious to know if your co-worker was Irish? Many Old Country Irish strongly believe in lingering and sometimes malevolent spirits that will attempt to "Jump" into a living body and "insole" them I have had many Irish patients or Irish families who don't want to be in that same room where a person has died in the past 72 hours. I was raised in a house where we were all sure there was a benign spirit - The original owner/builder who had been murdered in the driveway. We even had the old Life Magazine crime scene photo's. Too many very strange things happened in that house to discount paranormal activity. There are many people who have a sensitivity to the paranormal there are others who believe there is no such thing. To each their own.

I was a young nurse and a patient i had was dying. He grabbed my arm and pleaded with me to not let Satan who was at the foot of his bed take him. His quote. I prayed with him and he calmed down and died shortly after. Needless to say my hair stood up and I never forgot the terror in this man's eyes
