I agree thank goodness for fitted bottom sheets.

Back "in the day" they were all flat sheets. Let's see new bottom sheet, take the old top sheet and make it the draw sheet and new top sheet. Oh yes there was a rubber sheet that went under the draw sheet. Oh the FUN!

Then you fan-folded the top and blanket down so that their edge just covered the bottom of the draw sheet.

On a post op bed you fan folded once and then made a point by pulling the corners down to meet the opposite corner.

And these were RULES!

My mom taught me to make hospital corners when I learned how to make my own bed at 5 years old and have never had a problem with it. Taught my own kid and husband too. (I can also fold fitted sheets and have them look neat!)

We do have fitted cotton knit bottom sheets at work now, much nicer and faster than the old way and they stay on the bed when HOB is raised. I also remember draw sheets and rubber sheets and lambs wool pads, remember those?

I remember using lambs wool, I still use draw sheets. I always use hospital corners when making a bed. Thanks for the picture, Karen!:)
