Hi fellow nurses!
So I just got my RN license a week ago, and soon after my probation packet came. I'm supposed to go in for my first random drug and alcohol testing, and I'm wondering if any of you know what kind of test the BON uses to detect alcohol.
I'm a bit worried about this because I had a few drinks a couple days ago, and then came home to my probation packet which stated I needed to go in for a drug test.
If any of you have ever been tested for alcohol by the BON, please let me know what thats like and what kind of test they are doing.
Thanks all, I really appreciate it!!!
I am thinking that option 2 (for quest diagnostics/recovery trek) in TX is also the etg/ets. Or maybe all of them have it in there, I don't know. I have only been selected for option 1, 2, and 3, with option 1 being most frequent. Option 2 is what they test me after "major holidays" it seems. I assume it's because there is a lot of drinking that people do on these holidays. By God's grace I am sober and don't worry too much about these tests, unless they take longer to result, like my last one. Then I freak out! Anyway, I am curious and wish I knew what all they tested for, but then, knowing me, I would try to pull something over. That's the addict I am!
Blessings! :)
