TAIPEI (Reuters) - A Taipei restaurant-bar is letting visitors order "medicine" from a menu and dripping it into their glasses from a transparent ceiling-suspended vat, becoming the latest oddball themed restaurant in Taiwan's capital.

Ok, so that just sounds revolting. The whole nurse-kitten issue aside, nowhere in my mind does 'hospital theme' relate to anything relaxing, inviting, something to be the hub around which food is centered. Even as a layperson years before I was an RN that would've just been gross. Somebody is desperate.

Right up there with Heart Attack Grille in AZ.... only concerns from nurses in area will encourage change. Forwarding this to Center for Nursing Advocacy.

We need to put the professionalism back into nursing! What ever happened to the days of giving expert nsg care and being recognized for it? What is all this stuff about customer care, hospitals are not hotels, therefore we shouldn't have to act like we are selling a service.

It's in taipei. They don't care about the center for nursing advocacy, trust me. I mean, last year I read an article about a restaurant near beijing (I think) that only serves cooked genitals. Different animals, but only genitals. That's it.
The bottom of the article describes a "jail" themed restaurant, and someone did try a holocaust theme, thank goodness that one flopped.
So while I see the point, about how our profession is regarded, I see this more as a byproduct of that particular part of the world that seems to be inventing really odd restaurants. Eating out of toilet bowls?!
Edit: I reread the article. The holocaust restaurant only removed some offending items. It may not have flopped after all. That's so wrong that I can't even figure out how to describe how wrong it is.

Gee, I'd really hate to be the one to order the Go-Lytely. Or the Foley Special. Can you imagine ordering the K-exalate?
