pls share ur experience here..and also what type of job can we apply while waiting for our registrations because i heard it takes couple of months..

hello everyone, i m from india and planning to apply for qsw programme bt i heard so many negative comments about this programme.can anybody guide me

most people see it that way because of the language factor which is FRENCH but if you want to take it as a challenge , give it a try only yourself can tell you if you made the right decision..and if you are already there plan what is your next step...

navi73, prepare yourself for an uphill struggle to get licensed, to find work, to feel like you fit in unless you're completely FLUENT in French. If you're not, shop keepers, bank employees, restaurant servers and many others will sneer at you, your patients might insist you speak French to them whether they understand English or not and every bill, sign and other documents will be unreadable because they're all in French. At least that has been my

experience.

@jfrn, how are you now.. i mean i want to ask what is your current status in quebec as a nurse, i dont know much about your background, some post here are old..

i have question, re: registration for oiiq, what are the basis if you are going to undergo 40day integration or 5-6 mos course, does applicants from the phils. automatically takes up the 2nd option? because, the course is expensive right??

I have more than 8500 posts on this site and my background is well-established. As I said in a previous post above, I don't live in Québec now, but I have. One of my children lived and worked in a health-care related field in Montréal for 8 years while obtaining a PhD - which was not a problem because she is fluently bilingual. Her spouse is NOT bilingual and he struggles every day.

Your questions regarding OIIQ's registration policies should be addressed directly to OIIQ. Because every person's experience is different, only OIIQ can give you accurate information as it pertains to your particular situation.

Hey..do u already have ur flyt schedule for quebec..u said u are leaving this year. Hows ur application?

Haven't been on this site for awhile, yes I'm already here in Quebec for 7 mos, I'm processing my oiiq at the moment while working under agencies.
