new zealand nursing council: oversee the registration of all overseas registered or enrolled nurses as well as midwives. http://www.nursingcouncil.org.nz

thanks a lot! my friends and i are researching about nz through the internet because of our interest to work there as a nurse. we're planning to process the application by ourselves and not go through any agency anymore because it seems to be practical that way than paying for an agency. anyway, thanks for the help! i have learned new things about nz from the websites you've suggested. have a nice day!

just to summarize the whole process

1. take your ielts exam (test result must be 7.0 on all listening, reading, speaking and writing)

2. contact the new zealand nursing council.

http://www.nursingcouncil.org.nz/reg.html

3. complete all requirements and pay nz 465.00

4. upon approval of application, nursing council will send advise for the nurse to enroll for the program.

5. upon paying the tuition fee, you would show the receipt payment to nz embassy in order to be granted student visa or visitors visa.

Approval timeline from NZ Nursing council has not been documented but depending on courier or case to case basis. Approximately 4 to 6 weeks.

Hi anyone......

do we still have to take a written exam for New Zealand or is our Philippine License recognized by their gov't? Coz quite frankly, after passing the NCLEX last year, everything I have learned is gone :)

you need to take the Competency Assessment Program...all you need is to pass it , there is no written exam afterwards .
